Abstract

As a result of globalization, organizations must assume constant changes that allow them to be competitive; on many occasions, demanding additional time from their workers to fulfill their goals. Gradually and progressively, this leads to their staff spend less time for family, recreation, among other relevant aspects of life, promoting workaholism. This addiction is not only the responsibility of organizations, there are also individual and social factors that favor both its appearance and its maintenance. In the conclusions the integrality of this psychosocial phenomenon is recognized and some preventive actions against it are left to consideration.
