Problems that arise due to extraction are described, specifically extraction of gravel and sand, taking as case of study La Virginia, Risaralda. It seeks to contribute to the knowledge of the problem and highlight the importance of society integrating plans to guarantee the conservation and regulation of water, as well as the care of the sources and the reforestation of the watersheds.
