Urban massive transportation system: the megabus case in the colombian central-western region

Contemporary cities' urban growth and metropolitan process cause serious mobility issues. Putting massive transportation systems (MTS) in place transforms the environment and has a significant impact on inhabitants' living style. This paper present the results of a research project aimed at analyzing the way in which the Megabus Massive Transportation System (MMTS) affected the urban habitat in the Metropolitan Area of Colombia's Central Western region. The article makes use of well-known methodologies deployed in science and
technology research in order to identify the components of the metropolitan habitat and the main technical features of the MMTS.
